Why The $30 Aquarium Is One Of The Best Things to Do

If you are looking for things to do in almost any major city, visit the aquarium. I went to the Ripley’s Aquarium in Tennessee, so when Ontario finally got it’s first one, I was eager to see the difference between the two. While I had some haters during this travel blog experience (70 year old ladies who ended up pooping their pants), the Aquarium is still one of my favourite things to do in Toronto and I would certainly go back – again and again and again. It’s like unlocking the secrets of the underworld.

(Pssst – that link will take you to an incredible book that literally unlocks the secrets! Perfect for those of you who can’t get to an aquarium!)

People Say The Aquarium is Too Expensive

As an avid water, ocean and marine life lover, the concept that the aquarium! is too expensive appalls me because I certainly don’t think you can put a price on it. Maybe I’m biased, but hear me out.  Aquariums are extremely expensive to maintain, and since there is no other place out there like the Ripleys, the $30 that is costs is well worth it. Sure, it may be more expensive than other things to do in Toronto but you won’t receive the same quality of excitement. Walking through tunnels surrounded by sharks, eels, turtles, fish and coral? Don’t mind if I do.

My Travel Blog Made a Big Uh Oh and Got in Trouble

Guys, it really happened. I got in trouble at the aquarium because of some of the differences from the Tennessee one. There is a spot where you can touch some of the fish, one of those being a Horse Shoe Crab. Not only did I have these in my backyard when I was writing my travel blog in Florida, but in Tennessee, you were allowed to pick them up and hold them. Well, being the know-it-all that I apparently am, I walked up to the tub of Horse Shoe Crabs are start flipping them over to show the kids that they’re like spiders underneath. Well, turns out that the employees aren’t even allowed to pick them up, let alone some random blonde visitor. Needless to say, I got in trouble. Oopsie? So, don’t start flipping over all the grabs to see their legs wiggle.

Why Other Things to Do in Toronto Don’t Compare

Aside from what I already mentioned, here are some of the most incredible and unique things that you can do at the aquarium. You get to pet sting ray, walk through tunnels of all kinds of fish tanks filled with Nemo and Dorah, hang out with the Sharks, and more importantly,

you get to experience things that you probably would never have had the opportunity of had you not gone.

You also get to learn all kinds of new information about the majestical creatures that are in the ocean. It’s a stunning sight and so informative. I would go again and again and again.
