There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that starts off your Monday the way fresh dog poop going under your finger nails does. Trust me. It’s okay though because yesterday totally makes up for it. Apparently mornings aren’t my forte. Who knew?
Let’s get serious here for a moment… Every one reading my travel blog knows that I don’t do mornings well but here I am! Freshly cleaned hands and all. It’s funny how you can clean up such a big poopy mess within seconds of cleansing. Okay… I have no idea where I’m going with this. So without further ado, let’s talk about yesterday! Oh, yesterday. How I love you so dearly.
Yesterday I was taken out for some outdoor adventures on a jet ski in Johns Pass, or waverunners as Florida people like to call them, and this was certainly a big deal for a landlocked Canadian. Of course, we can jet ski in the lakes but it’s certainly not comparable. You’re about to see why I adore Florida vacations so much. Although, yesterday’s experience in Johns Pass was definitely a first and even more so, one that I will totally never forget.
After I decided to calm down and stop screaming through the bumps of the waves, and a daredevil of a driver at some points, (He really wasn’t bad… I’m just a landlocked Canadian, remember?) we slowed it down to take a look in Johns Pass to see if we could find the evening dolphins swimming in. Now that’s an understatement because it was literally like I had the opportunity to swim with dolphins.
The tons that came in decided to get right up beside my jet ski in Johns Pass. It was like swimming in a real life aquarium! They were so close I could have touched them. Of course, I got too excited when that happened and fumbled and failed to take any kind of a photo other than my finger. Baby dolphins. Adult dolphins. Dolphins. Dolphins. Dolphins. I was tempted to jump in and actually swim with dolphins but that wouldn’t have been a good idea. Or so I was told. This was more than enough though. They were so close to me that the water from their spray hole thing was splashing me. It was absolutely phenomenal and I’m still gasping in amazement as I watch my video footage and pictures. It was literally a dream. Swim with dolphins? Pfffffff. You don’t have to pay big money for that. Just get a jet ski in Johns Pass and those beautiful things will put the term “swim with dolphins” out of the water. Literally.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Johns Pass is phenomenal. It’s a stunning place with amazing restaurants and bars right along the water. Even if you’re not looking to get a jet ski to swim with dolphins, as I officially like to put it, Johns Pass is definitely worth a visit on your Florida vacations. I wish this could be my every day life. In fact, I’m absolutely astonished and envious that this is someone’s every day life. My jet ski experience in Johns Pass has made this one of the best Florida vacations I have and will ever take. That is for damn sure.
I spent so much time out on the water with the dolphins that I photobombed the hell out of people’s photos. I found them on Instagram. It was hilarious.
P.S. I was pretty cold once I finally got off the jet ski, and yes… I thoroughly mean “finally” so I went into The Zone which is on the John Pass strip and they made me a bombass Justin Bieber sweater. Woot Woot! You’re jealous of my 23 year old body being stuck in a 10 year old’s mind. Don’t lie.
