Seeing lookbooks that have the same item in them are great, because you get to see how one piece can be worn with different items within your wardrobe, for different styles and events. I chose my $10 neon green ruffle blouse and worked my way throughout my outfit. I love this tank blouse because it is light, and let’s be serious here, the summer is hot and the lighter the fabrics, the more bareable those smoggy summy days will seem. It has quite a high cut so I was unsure how it would look with my high-waisted black skirt, but with a belt to compliment the transition of the two, and I think it turned out pretty darn cute if I must say so myself.
I am wearing….
Urban Planet ruffle blouse
Garage high-waisted skirt
Jessica Simpson necklace
For accessories, I just chose some sparkling gems, like my Fossil bracelet that I boasted about it’s importance on my blog, and my Jessica Simpson heart necklace that I received for Christmas from my roomie. I rocked a floral print Michael Antonio high heel. Why did I choose a floral print high heel, you aks? Well, the outfit is rather simple. There’s no print and no pattern, so I could get away with a fairy funky shoe. There are hints of colours that are similar to my shirt, in this high heel so it works. At least I think it does. What do you think? Hey! At least it’s an idea if you ever asked yourself how to wear floral print heels!
I have a pretty big booty so my skirts tend to be shorter than they would normally be, so if you have a little derrière, this lookbook could definitely be the perfect look for work. And hey! You can take it right from the boardroom to the bar!
Are you still loving the high-waist trend?
