The biggest of fashion trends for this upcoming spring and season totally confused me; the monochromatic trend. Instantly, I thought monochrome, right? Why wouldn’t you? In case you don’t know, the monochrome fashion trends have been pretty haute to trot for several seasons and it’s the black and white look.
Apparently, the monochromatic trend is so totally note monochrome.
The monochromatic fashion trends are all about wearing one colour. Yes, you read that right ladies. The spring and summer season wants you to dress yourself, head-to-toe, in one tone. All you’re probably thinking of is a neon track suit that makes you look like a Teletubby. Sounds super tacky, right? I thought the exact same thing until I did a little playing around in my closet.
These fashion trends don’t mean that you are wearing the same colour per se, but more so, varieties of the same tone. That is key to this season, and as you can see in my lookbook, I incorporated 3 different blues into one outfit. Remember when this concept was considered a fashion faux pas?
I kept all my accessories a baby/aqua kind of blue to tie them into my entire wardrobe. Since I know navy blue and white (the nautical kind of fashion trends) are also this season’s favourite, I knew they were also a must. To complete the look, I tossed on my denim jacket and voila.
Although, I think the monochromatic trend means that my pants are also supposed to be some kind of blue, but I think this is still suffice. If I did follow this rule, I would have probably made my pants the same color as my denim jacket.
