It doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re a female, you need a sequin dress. No, scratch that. If you’re a female, you need as many sequin dresses as you can afford because ’tis the season to rock around the Christmas tree looking absolutely fabulous.
The holiday season is a busy time for everyone. There’s no denying that, but your wardrobe shouldn’t take a back seat in Santa’s sleigh. Plus, your schedule is probably full of holiday parties, gatherings, festivities, events and club events, so you need to be prepared and the only way to do that is to shop, girl, shop!
While there are plenty of stunning dresses popping up on the shelves of your favourite store, I say avoid! There’s one time of year where you can dress like a disco ball and look totally chic while doing so. In other words, you should wear absolutely nothing other than sequin from now until January 1st. It’s basically a rule… that I just made up on the spot.
Seriously though, sequin dresses are so glamorous and they add the perfect dose of sparkle into your wardrobe for the holiday season. Now, us normal people adulting in life certainly don’t get 10 days off for Christmas. Oh, how those days are long behind us. However, most students get approximately 10 days off and most adults can find 10 reasons to drink Whiskey in their eggnog. So without further ado… here are my must-have styles I think every lady deserves to treat herself to during the holidays.
This sequin dress is perfect for the ladies out there who want to wear a sequin lookbook without getting too complicated. The gold is a classic tone for the holiday season, the sparkle is a must and the cut of the dress is ideal for most body shapes. It’s not too tight, it’s not too loose, it’s not too frilly, frumpy, lumpy or taut. It’s the perfect dress for sequin simplicity.
Nordstrom knows where it’s at, and this sequin dress is basically the epitome of festivity. This lookbook comes in charcoal, black, green and red, which obviously are the go-to tones of the season, and the style is perfect for versatility. It’s not too risqué, so it’s great for work parties, but it can also be worn to get freaky with your girls after you’ve had too many adult Egg Nogs. Now that, my friends, is what I call festive perfection.
This Bodycon sequin dress is haute to trot. The V-neck is elegance at it’s finest, and since I’m a Canadian blogger, I have to give kudos to the long sleeves. We all need some long sleeve dresses up here in the good ole’ North. Aside from that, the sequin collaboration on this dress is impeccable and the fit is flawless. Definitely a showstopper.
Gorgeous in Green
Although I’m not usually not a fan of having green within my wardrobe, with Santie Claus coming, I will let this one slip into my top 10 holiday lookbook list. It deserves a spot because it’s bang on for the holidays. It’s green, and it sparkles. Need I say more? Oh, the long sleeves are a huge bonus for us Canadian bloggers and the V-neck is swooping down to South Pole. Classy, sexy and festive? Check!
Surprisingly, this dark blue dress has a place in my
heart wardrobe that I can’t quite explain. It’s not really a sequin dress per se, but it deserves a spot in this 10 holiday lookbook list because it’s different. Fashion isn’t always about what everyone else is, so this number could be a real showstopper this holiday season. The deep blue hue really tugs at my heart-strings as well, and although it’s not green, red or gold, it works.
How cute is this black sequin dress? “Cute” isn’t really a word that I like to be associated with my sense of style, but there’s really nothing wrong with it, especially when you take a look at this sequin dress. It’s adorable; it’s like the perfect dress for the daughter attending her parent’s fancy work party, or the teenager going to her first holiday party or retail work party. Wherever you go this holiday season, you’ll definitely be on Santa’s nice list if this dress is within your holiday lookbooks!
Sleek and Chic
I’m a big fan of t-shirt dresses this holiday season, but the secret to pulling them off is that the dress has to look like the fanciest t-shirt you’ve ever seen in your life. This crewneck t-shirt dress nails it. The dipping strings of sequin and unique trim add some dimension into this basic fitting dress, and it’s perfect for all holiday festivities. Whether you have to be “good” at a work party or can let loose with your girls at a house party, this dress can keep up.
This sequin dress is for all my basic bitches out there. It’s simple, it’s basic, it’s perfect, and I love it. There’s no need to fuss with your look. You just slip on this number, accessorize and you’re ready to turn up the dance floor to Jingle Bells. You can grab this dress in navy blue, black and khaki, but the rose gold and wine tones are on point with the fashion trends.
With a Twist
This holiday dress is similar to the sequin styles mentioned previously, only with a twist. The bottom hem is curved, which adds a bit of dimension, and the neckline has a slight V. This is one lookbook that keeps things classy and chic, yet a little bit haute and sexy.
Not so Nice
Okay listen ladies, this is not the kind of holiday dress lookbook you wear to your parent’s work party. But it is the kind of dress you wear for a night out on the town with the girls! The shape of this sequin dress is super chic and is bound to put you on the naughty list. And you know what they say, well behaved women rarely make history.
